Baptism of Children is often celebrated during Sunday liturgy. During the Pre-Baptism meeting, the place of Baptism in the process of faith development is explained and the parents are instructed in their role as Christian parents. The Church reminds them of her role in helping foster their faith and that of their child. Please call the rectory to schedule the required pre-Baptism meeting, preferably prior to the birth of the child. First Eucharist and First Reconciliation: Second graders celebrate their first Sacrament of Reconciliation in the Fall, followed by First Eucharist in the Spring. Children are prepared for reception of the sacraments by teachers in the school or at a parish school of religion. Confirmation: - The Sacrament of the Holy Spirit is celebrated every other year at one of the sponsoring parishes of St. Frances Cabrini Academy. 7th and 8th grade students receive sacramental preparation through their classes at Cabrini Academy or through the South City Deanery Parish School of Religion. Marriage: Celebration of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony requires advanced planning and scheduling. St. Pius V parish and the archdiocese offer several methods of preparation based on the needs of each couple. Contact the rectory at least six months in advance of the desire wedding date so that appropriate arrangement can be made. For extensive information about getting married at St. Pius V, click here.
